The test of Listening, Reading & Writing will start according to the timeslot you have selected. Slot 1 timing is  09:00 am to 12:00 noon. Slot 2 will start from 01:00 pm to 04:00 pm. Slot 3 is from 05:00 pm to 08:00 pm.

Listening:

The listening module will contain 40 questions, which you will attempt in 40 minutes.

Generally, students consider this part to be the toughest, but it is very simple to ace it whenever you decide to take the IELTS exam. The major point to note is that you need to master understanding different English accents. So practice with different accents.

If you achieve the following bands against the respective scores in your practice sessions, for example, in case your 35 questions are correct, you will score 8 Bands. If 36-38 are correct, you will get an 8.5 band; if 39 to 40 questions are correct, then a 9 band.

Reading:

After the Listening Module, the examiner will give you a ten-minute break before starting the Reading Module. The reading module will have between  2 to 3 detailed articles with a total number of 40 questions. In the test, Questions will be in the format of filling up blanks or MCQs. Don’t read the whole passage before going for the questions, just skim and scan to get the gist of it. By doing this, you can save a lot of time. You don’t need to have a high level of comprehension to understand the articles. On the other hand, the third article needs more attention as it is a little bit difficult. Patience is your most powerful weapon, so solve the sample papers and mock tests daily.

Writing:

Finally, the writing portion will also start after a 10-minute break. The writing module consists of two assignments. Task 1 will be a short write-up of a report or letter with a word limit of 150 words. Task 2 will have an essay with a word limit of 250 words. A most important factor to keep in mind is that you can’t exceed the word limit, which will show negatively on your write-up. For this section, the more practice you do, the better results you will get.

Speaking:

This part of the test will roughly last for about 15 minutes. After your short introduction, the examiner will ask about your interests and hobbies. Everything will be vague. The tester will ask Simple questions like Where do you come from? What are the famous attractions in your place? And many other similar sorts of questions like these. Above all, Practice and more practice. Try to limit the use of fillers. At the beginning of the sentences, utilize some good words to make a great impression.
